I was surprised to find so many beautiful flowers and cacti growing in AZ! The animals were fun to see, too! I would definetly bring a friend or family member who has never seen the desert fauna and flora to this museum!

My favorite zoo like museum. The place is teeming with docents who are more than happy to explain the mysteries of the Sonoran Desert and its inhabitants. Wonderful summer program on Saturday nights and great fun watching the eagles, owls and other birds of prey...More

This is a great place to visit and enjoy the beauty of the Sonoran desert and enjoy seeing some beautiful animals. I would make the trip in the "cooler" months of the year, when human desert dwellers can go outside comfortably.

The mixture of desert flowers and animals is great. The staff provides insight into the various venues and knows the hidden stories of the animals and plants. The food is as you would figure for a museum, average and processed in most cases. Can spend...More

The name museum is really almost a misnomer - this is not a musty indoor building full of dead thing, but rather a lovely outdoor hillside that supports a large number of desert ecosystem. Expect to see all of the desert inhabitants, birds, mammals and...More

Besides the museum, your children may enjoy Tombstone. It is an old west historic town with people dressed in period clothing and in character. Staged gun fights. Recreation of the shoot out at the OK corral.

Didn't see any. Since wild animals are part of the exhibit, I doubt it. Check with web site before you go.
