This 10-acre compound in Tucson's Santa Catalina Foothills features a sprawling gallery devoted to the work of deceased artist Ted De Grazia and the adobe buildings that he built on the property. I took a visitor recently to see De Grazia's paintings, sculptures and ceramics on display in the gallery. They range from impressionistic paintings of Southwest Native American children,... More

The grounds are beautiful and the many gallery spaces well done. It is much larger than it appears. Don't miss seeing the chapel. I was only familiar with his paintings of children but found I liked his religious paintings and his animals better. Great feeling and movement in those subjects.

What a surprise! I did not fully understand his work until I visited his actual studio. The film is a must to understand the passion and progression of his art. Then stroll through the hand made adobe rooms and enjoy. The outside is also very interesting, with sculpture, design items and desert garden. There are chairs and benches to sit... More

The gallery is in a beautiful setting. The various buildings are interesting and I enjoyed viewing some of the works by DeGrazia.

We cycled the 10 miles to get to this Gallery/Museum which was built by the artist as both his home and studio and gallery. This was an American artist I had never heard of and this was a delightful surprise. There was a wonderful collection of his art and a good overview of his story and how he connected to... More

You have to want to go here to get here, but it is well worth the trip. They now charge admission, but to see all his works and the grounds is a value at $8. We love his work and the gift shop has many reasonably priced items as well. Be sure to get there by 2pm to have time... More

We were awed by our visit to DeGrazia's Gallery in the Sun. He is so multi-talented as an artist. He built the gallery to house his paintings and sculptures and it is beautiful. The story of his interest in American Indians and Mexican and Southwest heritage is fascinating. The short video really captures who he was. It was well worth... More

Second Rate.. pop like but not new. Better to go to real Art place. Unfortunately it's lacking in this locality.
