Be amazed at one of the world's largest aircraft collections: including 2+ hangars of World War II planes, supersonic spyplanes, the world's smallest bi-plane, plus many other unique private, military and commercial air & spacecraft documenting the evolution of flight. Friendly docents augment your visit. Only Pima Air & Space offers the bus tour of the "Boneyard"/AMARG (M-F only, no holidays) plus offers its own tram tour of the museum's 80 acres of one-of-a kind planes daily (additional fees). You can actually touch "aviation history" including "Freedom One" (that flew the American 444-days-in-Iran hostages home), presidential crafts, planes that launched astronauts, delivered life-saving food/fuel, etc. and others with wingspans the length of a football field... Ogle helicopters, MiGs, an Oscar, a rare German buzz bomb, a moon rock and much more. 300 aircraft, 80 acres, 5 indoor air-cooled hangars. Just plane awesome!

January is a good time to come here with all the outdoor displays. Busy, but not bad to see all the history here. We spent nearly 5 hours (glazed my wife's eyes tho) enjoying all the WWII, Korean, Vietnam and current planes. The docents with the knowledge they have from being pilots, technicians, plane builders or affecinados did a marvelous... More

We came to Tucson just to visit the museum and the museum justified the trip. Literally 100's of planes to see. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and were willing to share their insights.

Especially great if you're an airplane buff or have been in the Air Force. An old Air Force One plane is on the outside lot.

When you visit Tucson, The Pima Air & Space Museum is a MUST!!! We live here and have been to the museum several times with visiting friends and family. One friend was a child in The Netherlands during WWII and remembers seeing the liberating bombers fly over on the way to then Nazi Germany. On one visit with our grandchildren,... More

They have many hangars that feature a variety of types of planes and manufacturers. The descriptions are interesting and there were a number of docents in each hangar, happy to provide details. And outside there was an incredible number of planes as well. In fact they have a separate bus tour through the "graveyard," that's how big it is. I... More

I have been here twice and will come back. It is a very large museum with many airplanes and displays on the grounds between the different buildings. This is the only air and space museum you do NOT want to miss. Easy to get to, ample parking, and very nice hosts. A restaurant and gift shop are also on the... More

This museum is truly an American Gem. I have been here countless times since I was a kind, and every time there are new additions, new information, and new elements to the museum. Considering this is the second largest museum in the US (per aircraft count) behind the Air Force museum it is incredible. I have been to both Smithsonian... More

Great experience if you like airplanes of all kinds, some with historical backgrounds. Not very many chances to see something of this magnitude!
