Took our relatives visiting from SF here on a rainy day recently. The plaza itself was a bit sad, as many of the food vendors were shutting down for the day. But visiting the mission is a must. There's a 30-min video to watch, and the whole mission is quite photogenic.

Take your time here and be sure to read the history of this beautiful church. Better yet, take the tour, which is quite worthwhile. Doable in the heat, but it possible avoid the summer months.

A National Historic Landmark, San Xavier Mission, the construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797. The church's interior is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings. If you get the chance, take the tour as you learn so much more about the church. Be sure you enjoy some Indian Fry Bread while there,... More

We stop every time we are in Tucson. In fact, we will be there once again this week. The interior is extraordinary. Don't know where they get the money to keep it up the way they do. And the exterior is photo-perfect.

Beautiful church, loved the history and getting to see it. I think it's really amazing that the church is still in use and I really enjoyed visiting it.

This is a lovely place to visit. So much history. I would recommend it to anyone. Not sure if young kids would enjoy it.

Beautiful historic site with history going back to the 1600s. It still works as a church so when mass is going on, there are no videos or cameras allowed. The interior is magnificent and there has been a lot of work done to restore it. Lots of time can be spent here marveling at the detail on the walls and... More
