It was the coolest house with a secret passage. The history of the home is great and very informative. I love the gift shops and the price were not that bad. Very Friendly staff. The painting and furniture was perfect and staged nicely.

We've been to Salem more times than I can count but had never visited The House of the Seven Gables. We had a friend visiting so we went together and I'm glad we did. Not only is the house beautiful, its a wonderfully preserved piece of history with a great backstory. Well worth the visit and the secret staircase is... More

Quickly getting bored with these types of things, i thought i was in for another over priced, long and drawn out tour. This was everything but. Young but very informative tour guide was a great start to the tour. The small group made it very intimate. The house is incredible to walk through, don't want to spoil it for anyone.... More

We enjoy the House of the Seven Gables. This was our second time for my daughter and I, we enjoyed it the first time so much we wanted to bring my mother. Which she also enjoyed. Both time we learned a lot two different tour guides and each had a lot to say. A great stop for some history in... More

The history of the house and its previous inhabitants is very interesting, and the views of the harbor are amazing.

We knew going to Salem that this was classified as a "Must See". We did the groupon--glad we did. For a 35 minute tour of the homes, their regular prices are a little steep. Getting to go inside two of the older Salem homes is fun and all, but they're your average middle class homes. If you've seen one, you've... More

This historic house is worth visiting even if you haven't read the novel. You learn about the history of the house and the people who saved it from demolition and lived there over the years. On the day we visited we were told the museum was closed, we explained how we had seen on their web site they were open.... More

My friend and I went and toured this building, its amazing you get views of the water and this historical building is also great. The flow of the tour wasn't very good perhaps because of so much history to cover. There is also tight spaces so if you are claustrophobic or have trouble with stairs this is probably not the... Thank you for your feedback about the tour. You are correct--covering four centuries of history is tricky in a house like The Gables. It's difficult for us to offer a chronological experience. We hope that overall you enjoyed your day at The Gables and in Salem. Sincerely, Julie Arrison-Bishop Special Projects Manager More

I toured the house for the first time in 2000 and the only thing I remembered was a super skinny, secret stairway :) My husband and I toured again with our Go Boston card and loved it! The our was about 45-60 minutes and super informative (& FUN!!). The house is located a few blocks from the town center -... More
