I'm a member here, and attend all the openings. The building is a mansion on beautiful grounds, and the collection inside is remarkable. There are constantly changing exhibits also. If you live in San Antonio, or are visiting, you want to go to see the McNay, take plenty of time. Then drive up the Austin Highway and eat at Tong... More

Watch the film upstairs for the story of McNay & her home. very well laid out complex. Take about 2 hours. We stopped on our way to the airport as we were driving and it is north of the city. Not crowded on a Tues. Nice wing on Broadway play coverart, music and a library with huge reference materials. Wish... More

This is an outstanding art museum in San Antonio. The art on display is top notch! Both the classics and the modern collections are great to see. In addition to the art, the grounds are so peaceful and epic. They make a great spot for a stroll and a picnic.

A stunning architectural treasure that houses an excellent art collection as well as a beautiful exhibition space. The museum is about 30 mins out of city center by bus but well worth it. The grounds of the museum are also lovely. Allow 2-3 hours to enjoy it all. No restaurant but small snacks in the shop.

I visited this Museum to learn more of color and art because I am an architect and we were learning this subject. Anyway, the Museum used to be a mansion and it looked so big and nice. Creaky floors and beautiful garden. The way I liked it.

This museum's main pieces are 19th and 20th centurey European also have a number of Medieval and Renaissance pieces. There is a very interesting collection of French glass in the lower level of the new addition. The temporary exhibit entitled Telling Tales did not resonate much with me. While the concept of telling a "short story" in six words sounded... More

They have a fantastic collection of art from every era. The history of the facility and how the art collection got started is fascinating. I found the staff to be very helpful and approachable if my family had any questions.

The setting itself is stunning. It feels very intimate. The collection is fantastic, there are many lesser known works by well known artists. The staff was very friendly.

Not to be missed. Amazing collection of fine art, sculpture and architecture and personal stories. Be sure to learn about McNay and her history while you are there. Reminded us a bit of the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum in Boston.

We enjoyed the the beautiful building and the grounds. The permanent collection was impressive, and we also enjoyed the special exhibit of "six word stories" and unusual photographs. Don't miss the short film about Marion McNay's life -- an interesting woman.
