My son was stationed here. My husband and I are retired military so we were on and off this base a lot. It really is huge with lots to do. There's a gold course, restaurants, shopping and a super camp ground for RVrs. If you pulled this as your duty Station don't be disappointed. You're surrounded by a city with... More

What a magnificent Military Base. It is not only immaculate; but also so very patriotic and friendly. The parade just before and during the graduation ceremonies is so very awesome. You know, it just makes you glad to be part of the USA & all the more proud when one of your relatives is part of the AIR FORCE!!

We were here for our son's BMT graduation. Everyone was very nice and helpful! There are many places to eat on base and a lot of park areas to sit and talk. Very nice!

Very nice base and nice people. We came to Lackland to attend sons graduation from basic training. Base is close to downtown and all area attractions.

Easy to get to and everything you need is on base. Getting through security was not bad at all. A nice campus with a lot of open space for walking or jogging. Very pedestrian friendly, unlike the city of San Antonio that surrounds the base.

My husband was at Lackland back in 1989-1991... He had a flood of memories while driving around. Told me all the things that changed and showed me what was still there that was there back then.

When I was told Airmen graduation would take 4 days I said, huh? I had little connection to today's military and was wondering what we would do for 4 days. It was the most fulfilling 4 days of my life. First, the air base is immaculate. Every aspect of the events made you realize the professionalism of our military. Visiting... More

My husband had his basic training here in the spring of 1963 - he was in the Air Force Reserves (fortunately since it was during the upstart of the Vietnam war). We have not gone back to view Lackland, but we've been in San Antonio several times this fall and always talk about those days (we were dating) and we... More
