I'm an above average fan of Western art, been to the Booth in GA, Bradford-Brinson and Buffalo Bill Center in WY, and several general art collections, like Denver, with entire galleries devoted to the genre. No Remingtons and only a single Russell made this museum...More

Admission is $10. There are some great art works in the gallery. It is also worth visiting to see the Destino San Antonio exhibition (until January 2019) which displays over 80 fascinating stereograph photographs of the city dating from the 1860s-1930s (a stereograph is a...More

Our visit to the Briscoe was an afterthought but we were so glad we decided to go. Though not a large museum, it has some beautiful art works, particularly sculpture pieces. The admission price is more than fair.

We spent almost three hours touring the three floors of exhibits. This is a first-class museum with excellent displays and audio explanations. The docents are there to answer questions, too.

We enjoyed browsing through the museum and especially liked the older artwork. Quite a display of saddles. The sculpture garden is also lovely.

Decided to visit the Briscoe Western Art Museum one Saturday. This is worth a visit but I wouldn't recommend for young children; most likely boredom would set in quickly. Very nice Western art of various kinds. Paintings, sculpture, saddles, Spurs, etc. with a sculpture garden...More

We visited the museum on our holiday and spent approximately two hours in the museum. Very nice and very informative about Texas and what the people of Texas think about their State. Very helpful staff. And very well maintained and clean.
