Beautiful cathedral at the heart of the city, the end of The Old Santa Fe Trail. Well worth a visit. Light a candle at the altar.

At 5PM as retail shops were closing with sunset illuminating the tall structures, I saw someone enter the church. We wanted to see the interior. Outside the door were statues of Saint Francis and the newly inducted Mohawk (American Indian) woman saint. Inside the church we learned tours had ended at 4:30 but we could stay for the choir music... More

We always enjoy seeing inside cathedrals and churches. This one was particularly interesting with parts of the original chapel. The church dates from 1626. Later in the week, we also attended a free concert here. The main part of the church was packed so we had to sit on the side but the acoustics were fine.

Every time we visit Santa Fe we make it a point to stop in the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi. I love walking up East San Francisco Street towards the cathedral. We... More

Beautiful Cathedral in the center of Santa Fe. Great architecture from the outside and the inside. Enjoy the choir practicing for a what a seem like a Christmas play. Beautiful inside as well.

Beautiful cathedral with awe inspiring artwork throughout. St Francis was challenged to rebuild the Church in Asissi and what a magnificent cathedral in Santa Fe to honor his name. The sculpted crucifix demands you to pause and reflect on Jesus sacrifice.
