Beautiful Experience!

I happen to be there on a Sunday morning and there was a noon mass just getting ready to begin, so I stayed for the beautiful mass.

Love this beautiful cathedral dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. From the huge labyrinth out front to the hidden prayer garden with life-size bronze stations of the cross, to the lovely gift and bookshop, to the ancient chapel...it all touches my soul. The baptismal font is amazing along with the stations of the cross paintings along the walls. This is... More

This is an operational faith community, not a museum. The stations of the Cross are definitely New Mexican and worthy of photos. There is an adult baptismal mini-pool dead center of the congregation worthy of a photo. The stained glass windows on a sunny day are awesome.

We have seen many cathedrals and churches. This is very centrally located and an easy visit at no cost. Great stained glass windows.

We were dropped off by friends to investigate the city. The Basilica was really Our stating Point and a beautiful church itbus with a rich history. The opportunity to sit and listen whilst aware of the passing visitors, presented a unique opportunity to witness the wonderful sounds which amplify through this cathedral, which occupies a central area of this rich... Always impressed by history and this building stands out. Immaculate stained glass windows inside, didn't stay long as someone was having a send off to meet their maker. Bit of a cheesy gift shop, but I guess they need the money selling that stuff. Now for the funny angle: We know their God is everywhere right? Outside there is a... More

We first saw the Basilica at night all lit up and I was curious about the inside. Glad we stopped in the next day to see it: it's colorful and light-filled and a fitting center-city jewel for Santa Fe. Would love to see it decorated for Christmas or Easter.
