The Santa Fe Botanical Garden strives to benefit all Santa Fe and New Mexico citizens, and our area's many visitors. The Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit, not a part of the four Santa Fe state museums, with a commitment to affordable admission and providing monthly Community Days free for New Mexico residents. Our educational mission raises awareness of critical issues such as water conservation, climate change impact, and responsible gardening practices. SFBG consists of the Botanical Garden on Museum Hill and the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve. The Gardens provides an "outdoor living room" where everyone can connect with nature, marvel at amazing plant varieties, and benefit from a place for contemplation. Visitors can relax under shading ramadas, discover a century-old red bridge, and explore the Art Trail, where changing exhibitions of sculpture will encourage return visits. With an array of native and traditional plants, awe-inspiring stone and metal work, and breathtaking vistas, the Botanical Garden is the essence of New Mexico. The Landscape Architect is W Gary Smith, and we are currently in construction of a 2nd phase, an Ethnobotanical garden to open in 2016. Please stop by and enjoy beauty and lessons to be learned in the garden! Thank you.

I love gardens, all kinds, and love to tour botanical gardens whenever I can. This had to be the smallest botanical gardens I had ever seen. We paid I think $8.00 each, and walked around maybe 15 minutes, thought there has to be more. That was it,pretty to see the...More

It was great to see native plants flourishing in their environment. I like the layout of the gardens, with small diversionary paths off the main path which direct you to little seating alcoves. They offer umbrellas to provide shade as needed, as it can be...More

Relatively small, maybe 90 minutes to see all. Includes a sculpture tour. Unique richly colored penstemon and some locally adapted roses. This is part of a museum complex that could be an all day trip. Free bus from down town.

Shows promise and I enjoyed the sculptures. It took us 30 min to stroll through. Was the place I was most interested in up on museum hill.

This is a new garden and has great potential. Everyone was very friendly and enjoyed all of the newly places bronzes in the garden. The umbrellas to prove shade are a great idea. We will return

A private nonprofit garden, early (5yrs) in its development as a native plant source. Great 360 view of city but not part of museum pass program. Should mature in time.

My husband and I enjoyed the morning tour lead by our docent. The Santa Fe Botanical Garden is fairly new/young, about five years old. The garden has some potential and with determination/motivation the garden will expand and thrive. Of course, I realize we traveled in...More

We enjoyed our visit, but were not overly impressed. It certainly entertained us for about 30 minutes, but that was enough to see it all. It was early in the season so not many things in bloom. The lady selling tickets was not very welcoming,...More
