This is totally free! Want to see some of the local history in Santa Fe area? Then head here. The hike starts out really flat, but you realize about half a mile down the trail you will be headed up. The hike up can be tiring for those from lower altitudes not used to thin air and climbing. Hiking shoes... More

This is a fairly remote place outside of Santa Fe and well worth a trip. We have seen isolated petroglyphs but never this abundance of symbols in one area. Take time to reflect on the people that created these masterpieces.

This afternoon we drove to the petroglyph site and took the hike to see the glyphs high on the side of a bluff. They were amazing. It's incredible that peoples so long ago did this art work. I'm always in awe of their work. There are lots of glyphs. Just keep looking. A few comments: - the bluffs are magnificent... More

My husband and I (both active senior citizens) hiked up to see this petroglyph site on a sunny day in January 2017. The hike to the hillside was easy. And, the hike up the rocky hillside to see the petroglyphs wasn't too bad either. However, it was a bit more difficult coming down the hillside. I wished that I had... More

For all the years we've been going to Santa Fe, we did not know this existed, and this close to town!! As my husband seemed bored by the same ole things we always did in Santa Fe, I got on Trip Advisor to see what local points of interest were in and around Santa Fe. We decided this would be... More

Just an easy little hike and jaunt up some large rocks leads to quite a few beautiful centuries old symbolic petroglyphs. Totally worth the easy trip from the city and round trip doable in 2-3 hours, so an amazing easy historical venture if you have some down time.

This is truly a great place to visit in Sante Fe. There is ample parking and the trail to the bottom rim is really not much more than a walk. The better petroglyphs are higher but if you take your time very doable. We wondered around to find what we thought were all but have seen photos here of things... More

Right outside of Santa Fe, on the sides of a hill are these wonderful rock art images. I used to work with the Rock Art Project so I have enjoyed walking and cataloging the pictographs. However I find it a shame that some people use this as a shooting range. This is a cultural heritage site and I for one... More

. . . This is a great place! A short hike (though steep and over rocks) takes you to a plethora of petroglyphs. We could have walked much further, but because of the very cold winds, we cut it short. But even in our time there, we saw many petroglyphs. This is the kind of activity we love, and if... More
