Our guide Christine was very informative and engaging with our group (about 30 people). It is a really marvelous natural wonder that has been preserved for all to see (for a reasonable price). The mirrored lake is amazing.

We had a wonderful time visiting Luray Caverns. With 2 teenagers and a 6 year old it kept everyone entertained. The guide did a wonderful job telling us about the caverns. It was very educational and fun!

Our kids loved the caverns and the guided tour by a local. Beautiful ride to the caverns .. dress warm. Damp and chilly, exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff and clean grounds.

The tour takes about an hour and costs around $30. You get to see and hear about the really cool caverns under Luray. The best part for me was the lake with the perfect reflection. The organ was cool. Flash photography is absolutely allowed. Good...More

Short answer: the IS no public transportation. Luray is a small town. There may be some tours that go there from DC, but you would need to book that in advance.

For Luray, bring your Giant supermarket card and every other adult is half price. You must physically have the card for that discount.
