We visited with some friends at the end of October. We decided to do this hike with our 3 kids, all under 6, and had no problems. They were able to climb some of the rocks as we walked and they had a great time. It was a very level grade, and we had no problem carrying our 1 year... More

This was a fun hike! The weather was in the upper 50's with the leaves still beautiful. The views at the top were worth the effort.

If you can , go! The hike was ver y doable and the view is worth it. The trees are still colorful, the sunsets magnificent and different each day.

On a whim, we hiked up this trail because it was near where we were staying at the Skyland Resort. The end of the trail takes you to the summit with spectacular views. It was a wonderful surprise. There are some inclines to the trail but not too strenuous. Our family of five made it up without any issue. it... More

This is a very short easy hike from the Skyland Resort. We decided to do it just after sunrise and had the place to ourselves. After the short hike you end up at a little rocky area that has incredible views of the west! We had no idea we were going to see such a nice view as we were... More

The hike is not bad at all. People with canes were completing it. The views from Stony Man are incredible. We were there at the peak of leaf color changing season.

Did this hike early in the morning and on a relatively cloudy day. The hike was fairly easy. Due to the fog, there was no view at the viewpoint but it was nonetheless amazing to stand surrounded by the clouds. Still worth the hike up despite the fog I'd say!

It's only about 45 minutes from your car to the "peak" -- easy hike with a fantastic view at the end (which is perfect when it is a surprisingly chilly 35 degree day)

Stony Man Trail begins in the Skyland Resort complex at the corner of one of the parking lots. Pay attention to the brochure. It says that the hike is "easier" - as compared to the other hike in the brochure. That does not make it "easy" as it is all uphill until you reach the summit. Once you get there,... More

This is a must! I would consider the trail going up the mountain would be okay for beginners or moderate hikers. It is rocky going up so watch your step. When you get to the top which is about 1/2 of a mile from the base, you will think that you are at the Grand Canyon! Loved it and will... More
