Great way to see Sitka. Our guide was a fourth generation Sitka native, and had so much to offer around culture and history of the area. Saw salmon in the creek near the park, in addition the bears and raptors in the rescue centers.

I took this tour in September of 2023 with two Adults and two Children.

The tour was just OK, It was far from the best thing we did in Alaska and I will explain why.
My kids were bored, it just wasn't for them, which made them disruptive and caused us to not enjoy the tour that much, there just isn't a lot for children - it's a lot of talking which of course young children usually find "boring" so keep that in mind if you have kids that could be like mine.

Our guide was late, not too much, but it was noticable by the way he kept saying we had to "hurry up" so he could fit it all in.
We only spent a really short time at the raptor centre, it wasn't nearly enough time. Plus I thought we would get time to explore on our own - we didn't, it was our guide taking us around to what he wanted, we didn't even have time for my kids to use the restroom.

We had a little more time at the Bear Sanctuary which was nice - they had very reasonable priced souveniers there and we learned a lot about the resident bears.

We were then taken to the National Park - which we had actually already been to earlier in the day on our own - you can walk there from town, our Guide told us some info on the salmon and trees - the info we got from the Marine Science Centre for around $12 was far more interesting and I would recommend doing that and visiting the National Park on your own rather than doing this tour.
Because we were running late we missed some of what we were supposed to see at the National Park and we only just made it back to the ship before departure (15mins to spare)

We also got some unwelcome commentary on the return journey to our Cruise Ship about Sex Parties and Orgies and also a few slightly racist remarks. I didn't appreciate either especially with my children listening, it was concerning and completely unprofessional.

The tour was average at best and not worth the cost of what we paid - especially the child price, there is very little for children on this tour.

Such a great way to explore all that Sitka offers while in port. Our guide is Native Alaskan and told us about the rich history of this area prior to Russian and European settlement. Thank you for a great day of history and knowledge!

The driver of the small boat went extremely fast for a small boat. It was not a pleasant ride, plus not seeing any whales was a bummer. I am not even sure there were whales in the area we went to. It was a waste of time and money. Wish we did a different excursion.!

What a great way to see rescued bears and bald eagles, salmon and totum poles and learn about rehabilitating raptors along with information on the local area and tribes. Our guide Melissa was fabulous!

This was the best $$ I have spent, a 3 hours tour that took us everywhere and Sharon was so nice, patient and knowledgeable. My mom is a bit older and has trouble walking, they accommodated her with no issues. They had umbrellas for when it rained and made every stop memorable. I honestly can't choose a favorite location as I loved the bears, I am obsessed with Eagles and Totum poles hand carved are priceless. All the photos below are from my experience 9/14/2023... thank you it was AMAZING AND GREAT PRICE...

It was good to be in a van that only held 10 unstead of a big bus. Our guide, Brett Davies, was wonderful. He was informative & answered all our questions.

I was really excited to go on this small boat tour, with the ability to get closer to whales and wildlife. Captain Frank was amazing! He was full of interesting information and stories, and I was lucky to get to chat with him a lot since I was sitting right by him. You could tell he truly loves what he does and cared about our experience.

There were only 5 people on our boat - me and 2 couples. It turned out that some of the other people did not realize it was a small boat tour. Two of them were obviously very disturbed by being in a small boat on the ocean, and most unfortunately, 3 out of the 4 other people on the tour experienced sea sickness. Captain Frank made it clear that everyone's comfort was the most important thing.
He made some changes to the tour, after confirming with everyone that we were alright with that. Due to this, we did not go out to open waters and also ended the tour 20 minutes early. We did see some wildlife, but this definitely affected how much we were able to see. This was very disappointing to me, as I felt fine because I had taken precautions to avoid getting seasick.

It was a really tough situation, because it's no one's fault. I'm not sure what the right answer is in a situation like that. We all wanted to ensure everyone's comfort as much as possible, so of course, we agreed to make those changes to do so. At the same time, it was a disappointment for me. I contacted the company, and they were helpful in working with me to make me happy. That's good customer service.

I would recommend this tour, as long as you're aware that it's a small boat! I really think that the full tour would have been an amazing experience.
