We were doing Route 66 and stopped at the meteor crater. It was really neat to see. It is a gigantic hole. You can take a guided tour of the rim. We were doing that when a massive rain, and wind storm hit. It was...More

This is an extremely interesting side trip off I-40 and worth the short drive. The history of the crater and the attempted exploitation of its perceived resources is compelling.

This really is a spectacular place to visit, we have been before but wanted to see it again, not disappointed so much information. Good gift shops and clean bathrooms.

Best to go in a cooler time of the year but definitely worth a trip to see the power of a meteor. Well run museum and shop. Lot of good science for people of all ages.

A great place to learn about meteorites and their history. I would plan on a one to two hour visit. There is a Subway restaurant there if you would like to enjoy lunch.

Jeff made our 30 minute tour very informative. An easy walk out to the crater will amaze you. Walkouts are easy to access and worth visiting. A bit pricey but super cool!

Meteor Crater is located on a private ranch, and is privately owned and operated. Concession and visitor center is well run. Guides are available for the tour to the crater. Our guide was very knowledgeable and amusing. Well worth the entry fee into the building....More

It is a hole in the ground. They don't let you in the crater and there is not much to see. Little over priced for the experience.

Are wheelchairs available for rental? Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

I did not see any wheelchairs for rental and not to sure about accessibility. The tour can not be done with a wheelchair as it goes out along the rim and is a dirt patch only.
