We attempted this hike in July, so it was warm, making the final destination, a jump into the creek (The Crack), a welcomed relief. The hike is about 4 miles in, 8 mile round trip. The day we did the hike we saw very few...More

We took advantage of a front that brought in rain and cooler weather! Not a difficult hike, but a long round-trip. Please do not take your dogs if a hot day. Trail is open the first half and then tail is cut into hillside. You...More

The day use area features quiet picnic spots with all the needed amenities but I am fondest of the campground: peaceful with well laid out sites and attentive campground hosts and proximate stream for swimming. The enclosed fire pits are a bit restrictive but necessary...More

'The Crack' is a cliff jumper's dream, although not too intimidating! It does offer something for everyone, with smooth rocks for sunbathing and shallow waters for wading. To get to The Crack, it's about a 3.5-mile hike each way, making it slightly less popular than...More

Wet Beaver creek and the Wet Beaver Wilderness is one of the gems of Arizona. There are parks and day use areas along the creek, but a visit to the crack is the best. It is about 3.5 miles one way. You start off in...More

It's about 4.2 miles in, but it's so worth it. The first half of the hike is pretty flat, the second half is up the side of a mountain. Stay on Bell trail and you should be fine.

My family's favorite hike (wife and 3 sons ages 12, 10 and 8). It is a long hike; approximately 4 miles to get to the crack, but it is easy and worth it. Once you arrive, it can be a little confusing to figure out...More

About a 6 mile hike roundtrip. Bring lots of water! The crack at Wet Beaver Creek provides an awesome swimming hole. The water is nice and cold, perfect for a hot summer day in Arizona. It gets very busy on weekends, so get there early....More

This is one of the nicest natural swimming spots I've ever been to. It's a nice hike in and a pleasant hike out if you walk the stream. Bring sun screen and plenty of water when it's hot.

The little ones most likely will not make it to the crack, but the creek does flow just a short hike from the parking lot so that will be your best bet.
