I was very impressed by both the design and the beautiful setting that this was placed in. It is another fine example of Buffalo architecture

Considering how prolific Frank Lloyd Wright was, it is amazing that he only designed one funerary piece. Although not the original planned setting, this one is located in a much nicer spot. I understand that spots are still available.

We had some time to kill as our tour of the Darwin Martin House was not going to happen for another hour, so off we went to the Forest Lawn Cemetery to see Frank Lloyd Wrights mausoleum design. The mausoleum was designed by FLW for Darwin Martin, but never built until the folks in Buffalo acquired the rights to do... More

Good commentary by guide on tour. Added to the history of Wright and the Martin family. Can be viewed outside the tour as it in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

We are so happy you enjoyed this all day tour experience. We felt that having a guide on board adds value to this excursion since many of our guests are from out of town. I bet even the locals get a chance to learn something. More

It's a nice well cared for mausoleum. You can't miss it when you are in the large Forest Lawn cemetery as it's so strikingly beautiful and serene

Interesting to look at it. I can see how he considered nature in this. It looks like not many people have decided to get buried here.

Blue Sky has become one of the most visited spots at Forest Lawn. This is the only funerary design Mr. Wright did and there will never be another one built. There have been numerous burials there and over 20% of the levels have been purchased. Many of the families have chosen not put names on the lots until a death... More

If you are interested in FLW and his work you need to add this to your list. Buffalo has a lot to see and a very nice variety of his style. This piece is nestled along the banks of a small spring fed (maybe Cold Spring which used to be an early source of fresh water for Buffalo?)pond. The granite... More

Walk around (or drive) Forest Lawn Cemetery and you will find something beautiful at every turn. In its simplicity, the Blue Sky Mausoleum is indeed something to see. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the mausoleum sits on a hill overlooking Jubilee Springs. It consists of stairs with 12 crypts on each side, rising up a hill to a small plaza... More
