It was a decent area but now so many places have gone out of business that it is not the same. Might not be a good place to go any more. Depends on what opens there if anything. Stores are raising their prices to compensate for the lack of visitors. Shouldn't they be lowering them to attract more customers?

A walking tour of the neighborhood will delight the admirer of Victorian architecture as well as the shopper or cafe lover. It's got a great feel and is a popular neighborhood for great drinks and eats in Buffalo.

The Elmwood Strip as it is known is deteriorating fast. many stores have gone out of business and a developer has asked the public what stores should be there because few things are working. That is in part due to the homeless and degenerates taking over, the stores still there are not very good, and there are many better places to go. You are best off going to the northern suburbs where there is an upscale presence with much better selection and service. I would not go out in Buffalo at night with the very high crime rate which you should check into online, and you are better to travel to a different city altogether. Buffalo is not a good place to be, do not be fooled by what the people here tell you. They have not been to a better place so they do not know.

Buffalo is such an under-rated city, with hidden gems like this one. I was staying at Hotel Henry, not realizing it was right next to Elmwood Village. It is such a great, trendy area with boutique shops. And you're in close proximity to museums, and the site of the McKinley assassination site. I will be back!

had a great time walking around in an area that was safe and fun. We picked up coffee at local shop, went to farmers market, stayed at Elmwood Village Inn (highly recommend) went to Cole's (great bar) walked to park and shopped to get Buffalo items to take home. LOVED IT!
