We took the "Discover Colonial Newport" tour and found it very informative. Excellent tour guide, good variety of stops (connected to religious and political history), and a reasonable length and pace. Altogether quite enjoyable and worthwhile.

We live in the area and had never taken the time to take this tour but highly recommend doing so. You will learn some very interesting facts that will make Newport even more fun to visit.
