A place to visit- staff reminded me a parochial school nuns (perhaps they were!). The display history of the leprosy colony, and the people sent there, and the people who cared for them, is sad but moving.

Stumbled upon this awesome pictorial story of Father Damien and Sister Marianne. Their work was just amazing and uplifting. The museum is displayed very nicely, great images and storyboards. The staff was very friendly and there's a gift shop within the museum.

With so much negative publicity surrounding the Catholic Church, it's a breath of fresh air to read about these two exceptional people. My children and grandchildren will know this story of selfless love for the Hawaiian people.
