A beautiful place. An Oahu must do. Visited here 20 years ago on honeymoon but it's changed so much! Mandatory 15 minute safety video and even though they claim to be open until 6 they start herding you out by 5. $7.50 per person. $1.25 tram rides up and down. Lockers available but they have to be emptied by 4:45.... More

It is like entering a different dimension. You won't want to blink for fear of missing something. So, don't ruin it all by drowning or getting hurt! Listen to the rules given before entering the area. People get in to trouble, hurt, and drown here. Heed the warning signs posted: always be with a partner, don't go over the reef,... More

Got to sea really large fish this time around. Have seen turtles in the past. Brain coral and schools of fish, both colorful and unafraid of human interaction, make this a great place to swim and be a part of nature's best.

The parking is very sparse and there will be a guy that will encourage you to go to the shopping center down the hill and take a shuttle up. Of course, The shuttle belongs to a rental company for snorkeling. For $20 you can get your snorkeling equipment and a ride up the hill to the bay. Once you arrive... More

Great place for younger kids to learn to snorkle. Our kids are 6 & 9 and it was perfect. They could see a number of fish but not be in "deep or rough" waters. The beach is very crowded but manageable. Make sure and either bring something down with you to eat or plan to hike or pay to ride... More

This a very popular touristic spot, a beach that sits on the base of an old volcano which created one of a kink reef. It is very favorably recommended for snorkeling and could be crowded with visitors. Our guiding tour mentioned that you will have to pay $7.00 per car to enter the area though.

I've been to Hanauma Bay several times, most recently, in 2016. It's best to go there early in the morning as the bottom tends to get kicked up by the many visitors throughout the day making for poor visibility. The coral has been pretty much wiped out which means it doesn't attract as many fish as it used to, but... More
