This is a very popular snorkelling spot. Lots of fish to see and we even got to hang out near a turtle. Get there early for a car parking space and less people as it was very full by about 10 on the weekend. Despite the informative pre-entry talk in which they lay out the rules explicitly in multiple languages,... More

Did this with a snorkeling group and we only did the half day adventure. Wish I would have completed a full day because by the time you get there, unload, pay, wait for your time slot and watch the video your time is drastically down. I suggest getting there in am and making it a beach day! Also take life... More

Paradise one of the most beautiful places on the Planet. One of the top snorkeling spots even for beginners or the inexperienced. Get a lesson in coral formations, snorkel and see breathtaking natural beauty. If you go to Hawaii and you miss this place your trip will be a bust.

Allow a couple of hours, as you have to watch a video before entering the beach area. Unfortunately it would seem a lot of people did not listen or didn't understand the message and stood all over the coral anyway. No wonder it's pretty much dead - just a few areas of healthy looking reef, but plenty of fish to... More

Right as you enter the water...the fish are there! Beautiful and abundant! Spectacular view of the cove as you enter the park! This needs to be added as a must do while visiting Oahu!

We came here as part of a round island self drive trip on a Friday. Arriving at 10.30 there were already queues and nowhere to park. The 9 minute instructional video is a good for beginners but beyond boring for experienced reef snorkellers. The walk down is pain free. The reserve itself is a beautiful setting and good for families.... More

Hanauma Bay is just amazing!!! The view is spectacular. Once you get to the water the water is clear and you can see schools of fish of all sizes, many varieties of fish just a few steps from the shore. The water is shallow in some parts and some other ones are a little deep depends on what side you... More

Beautiful clear water. A bit crowded but still enjoyable. Get there early for the most enjoyment. I wouldn't really recommend a tour bus for the trip. You can easily catch a cab or uber and be able to arrive and depart at your leisure.

Hanauma bay gets busy - if you are driving be prepared to leave early in the morning or you will not get a parking spot. There is a short presentation before you are permitted to go down to the beach this is to ensure everyone understands that coral is living etc and you don't stand on it. Unfortunate to see... More
