One of the principal Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, our unique interactive museum is located near the Battleship Missouri in the battlefield hangers of historic Ford Island which were attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy on December 7, 1941, the beginning of WWII. Aircraft, such as a Japanese Zero and the Stearman in which former President George H.W. Bush soloed as the war's youngest aviator, illustrate how aviation helped stem the war. You'll view historic videos, including a movie of the beginning of the war. Enjoy the authentic gift shop, 1940s themed cafe Laniakea, and the combat flight simulators in which you can virtually fight the battle of Guadalcanal in either an American or Japanese plane.Pacific Aviation Museum's mission is to develop and maintain an internationally recognized aviation museum, which educates young and old alike, honors aviators and the support personnel who defended freedom in the Pacific Region, and is dedicated to preserving Pacific aviation history.

A fantastic place to visit to learn about the history of aviation and more importantly the role aviation played in the attacks on Pearl Harbor. My 12 year old much enjoyed the information learned here!

I have to say I was extremely upset with the tour guide we had for this incredible museum. His last name was Tanaka and clearly pro-Japan throughout his tour. I respect his passion and interest in the history of Pearl Harbor, but he was completely tone-deaf towards his delivery during what should have been very somber, respectful and reverent during... This is the newest of the museum complex and you can tell they are still growing it. It was fantastic to see the collection and learn and walk the hangers. It was also awesome to see the restoration shop and watch the team at work.

An amazing collection of aircraft from multiple countries and eras. Guides were very helpful and in the hangar we even got to try our hand at aircraft riveting. Gift shop has a good selection that are not as tacky as most gift shops around the place. Simulator is good fun for children and adults alike.

history is amazing so many hangars and even a simulator and a gift shop and restaurant. So much to do and drive over to see the USS Utah still on its side

Extremely impressed, intriguing, and history was explained during the tour of the planes by the docent, Laughlin, who was most engaging and fascinating as the story teller that kept us all riveted to the historic details he provided in a very dramatic and thought provoking way, and introducing some of the brave Aviators that helped us win the war!

We highly recommend the docent guided tour. Most if not all docents are veterans who are very engaging, knowledgable and really enjoy what they are doing! They provide a wealth of information that is not available on the "audio" tour and they are adept at answering your questions!

This place offers the aviation fan a pretty comprehensive display of aircraft from WW2 until recent times. It even features an Australian F111 for us Aussies. Each aircraft is allotted an information board and so for those not up to speed it provides a handy guide to what you're looking at. Definitely worth a visit even though you need to... More
