There is more to see. Very interesting part of our history, BUT, don't miss Cedar Hill Cemetery where the Confederate Soldiers are buried. Being from the South I did not realize at first that the Vicksburg National Park did not allow Confederates to be buried...More

Monuments to Union states and Confederates. Stunning vistas. One way road throughout and it culminates at a museum and the fascinating partially reconstructed, salvaged iron clad ship. The only remaining one from the Civil War.

When you visit this park, go to the visitor center first and watch the 15 minute movie. It will help you appreciate everything you see on the 16 mile drive around the park. There are markers along the drive......so many that you would be here...More

Biking around the park was a great way to see everything. A little strenuous but worth it. Park Service people were very helpful.

The park is easy to drive, bike, or walk through. Many state memorials for the men that died in the siege. The NPS Vistor Center is very ineresting. It has pictorials and films about this historic civil war battle.
