The courthouse is just full of historical exhibits, not just from the civil war battle but also interesting collections of antiques. The building and grounds are lovely. Admission is $5 for adults. This is probably not a good attraction for young children - lots of reading to go along with the exhibits.

The greeter was very friendly and full of information! The museum was full of civil war era items, guns, uniforms, clothing, dishes, etc. Beautiful view! Great architecture!

Wife and I stopped here because it's the highest point in Vicksburg - you can see it from all over town. Inside there's tons of Vicksburg memorabilia and a restored courthouse from Civil War days on the top floor. Definitely worth $5 and hour of your time....

Learned a lot about southern history today. It is important in so many ways when you can see how history was made over a hundred years or more. The aftermath of votes for and against basic human rights is told on plain straight forward language. You need to visit here to understand the "old south".

So, not expecting to go to the Old Courthouse, the fates took control and after a wrong turn I found myself alongside the Old Courthouse with an open parking spot 10 feet in front of me. I decided to check it out thinking I would walk the grounds and the museum and it would be less than one hour out... More

I enjoyed my stop here. The staff were very friendly. There are 3 displays down stairs and 5 upstairs a couple deal with Civil War history, one room upstairs is for Jefferson Davies. The small baseball display in one of the rooms was very interesting. The courtroom was very impressive. It appears as it would have in the 1860s .... More

Historic and lovely old building and grounds. Inside is a treasure trove of memorabilia from days gone by, mainly focused on Civil War era. Incredible collection of old china, silver serving pieces and other housewares.

$5 admission allows you to see the most fantastic collection of memorabilia from the Civil War era, from money to clothes to weapons, etc, You also get entry to the Old Courtroom with its beautiful old wood floors and tables. Don't miss the rooms behind the Courtroom.

The courthouse is well laid out. Civil war artifacts are very good, with low prices for what they are. Each room holds surprises, with many items to hold interest.
