Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus
Sep 2017 • Solo
Pretty impressive to have a city named after Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, a hero of the Roman Republic in the fifth century B.C. This statue is in an easy to view location, right on the river.

Right on the river
May 2018 • Solo
This statue is right along some trails along the river. Right around where the purple people bridge is. You cannot help but to get a selfie of this historic figure. You will learn some history. If you are in Newport or Cincinnati come check Cincinnati’s out.

Statue, With Interesting and Educational Information About It and Cincinnati's Name Nearby
Oct 2017 • Solo
I enjoyed seeing this statue and reading the interesting and educational information about it--and the origin of Cincinnati's name.

If you walk along the Cincinnati riverfront in the area, I urge you to take a few minutes to view the statue and read the nearby information about the statue and how Cincinnati came to be called Cincinnati. I found it educational, interesting viewing (and reading) that only took a few minutes.

The statue is located in one of the riverfront parks in the area, with restrooms nearby. Numerous other nice sites to see are located nearby in these riverfront parks. A concession stand is also nearby, but it was closed on my visit during the late afternoon/early evening of October 25, 2017. Some restrooms were also closed, but others were open.

Several restaurants and stores are located within a few blocks of the statue, in downtown Cincinnati as well as across the Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky.

I encourage persons in Cincinnati to try to take time for a riverfront walk to see the Cincinnatus statue and many other attractions in the area (Purple People Bridge, Smale Park, Roebling Bridge, etc.). I think that the area is worth visiting, and while there, the statue is worth seeing as one stop among many.

Passed by the Cincinnatus Statue
While walking the Riverwalk. He is located in Sawyer Point . It's very well maintained. The details are impressive and he doesn't look worn out or faded for as old as he is . ( Dedicated May 1988 )

Unique Experience but Needs Updating
Jun 2016 • Family
Used to enjoy the river-side park often with my children but it is just run down in many parts and needs a good update throughout the length of the waterfront. Basics of cleanliness and healthly plants would go far. New and different activities would make all the difference, too.

Love this area of the parks by the river
Aug 2016 • Family
There is always interesting vendors and booths around this state of our city's namesake and the tunnels during the many festivals and events in Sawyer Point.

One of my favorite places to walk!
Aug 2016 • Solo
I have been visiting here for many years and have enjoyed watching it develop and expand into a beautiful place to visit. Great views of the Ohio River and Northern Kentucky. The area has interesting historic information on beautiful stones you can walk on. I have seen groups of people on rented Segways here and hope to do that soon. The landscaping is amazing and well maintained with a nice play area for children and more. I always take out of town guests here but enjoy coming here alone too. I have always felt safe and everyone you pass is friendly.
