Walking across the Roebling Suspension Bridge is definitely a more interesting way to travel across the Ohio River between Covington and Cincinnati; in itself scenic, with historical significance and with cars traveling on it to provide a nice humming background noise to help zone out to. Whilst walking on you can appreciate the architecture of the towers, the engineering involved... More

A lot of history and technology ( which you can read elsewhere ) for you to admire. We did the walk on a chilly morning from the Ohio side to Newport KY , stopping in between to take some beautiful pictures of the riverside park and the Queen City. It was fun despite the cold. I believe you must do... More

Historic landmark: Cincinnati 1850 population was 115,435 which was larger than St. Louis 77,860 and Chicago 29,963. Covington and Newport were home to 20,000 more residents, and as ferry traffic increased, the necessity of a bridge became apparent.Construction stretched over a decade, interrupted by the Civil War, during which the city and unfinished bridge were under threat of attack. The... More

This was the longest ropeway bridge when constructed in 1966 and looks like Brooklyn Bridge which was constructed 30 years later. Wonderful view

Recently took my kids and several nieces and nephews (ages 3-11) across the bridge. It was quite a bit of fun. The kids loved being able to walk to a new state. The distance was doable for most of the kids without excessive piggyback rides. Make sure to spend some time at the murals on the Kentucky side, and Smale... More

We are tourists in the area, and I found out about this bring on Trip Advisor. We decided to check it out, and I'm so glad we did! Our family of four drove over then parked and walked the span of the bridge. It was a great experience for all of us!

We stayed in the Ascent building which is right next to the bridge and so got to see it at all times of day and in all weather conditions. It is a great piece of engineering. take a walk over it. It gives good views of the Bengals stadium and the big screen, so if you can't get a ticket... More

Not a lot to see on the bridge, but if you like old history ad old things, it's something to say you crossed the Ohio River from Cincinnati OH to Covington KY on a 150+ year old suspension bridge. Beautiful views of both cities and the park (on OH side) was very clean and colorful with fall flowers. Doesn't take... More

My family enjoyed a day in downtown Cincinnati and were able to walk across the bridge. It was a really cool view. It had a very nice walking path. Once we reached the other side we were actually in Kentucky. We thought it was neat to say we walked all the way from Ohio to Kentucky! A cool sight to... More

Very nice walk with great views of the river, Cincinnati, and Covington. You have to see Smale Riverfront park and the Covington murals.

Thank culby
