Wow.. The terraces of the wet cliff formation are gorgeous. The whites are so beautiful. The area is huge. We enjoyed this the most in the whole of the park. Lots of walking and climbing steps. So much to see and do here. Lots of...More

We came here in the evening after eating supper and while it was still light. We had the area pretty much to ourselves. It was cold outside and they had snow in the upper elevations. This was a larger area to walk around. In fact,...More

Looking at this area I expect it changes all the time. The tavertine is changing and growing as you look at it. It is quite different from the other areas of the park which is what makes it interesting. The scale is huge and it...More

It was really beautiful. So interesting to see but not as beautiful as other areas if the park. As we had stayed in Gardiner this was our first stop. In hindsight we should have spent less time here and more elsewhere.

This is so mesmerizing!! Hard to believe this stuff happened all on its own! Worth the drive up there. Also a nice herd of elk that lives there! Neat to get so close!

Limited parking but worth the wait. There are a maze of stairs that can take you to many levels. Check them out as you get better perspectives from above looking down at them.

We arrived at Mammoth and were assigned cabin A37, a single unit with 2 queen beds and bath. Many of the cabins were recently redone, clean and well appointed. The porch was great for watching the resident elk that wandered the grounds. The cabin included...More

Depending on how busy it is when you go, I'd recommend the parking areas that are road-side right next to the springs. There are separate parking areas near the upper & lower sections. If it's really busy when you go, you... More
