A good place to get information about Mammoth Hot Springs area. Also, a good place for bathroom break. We were there twice, both times there were Elk in yard and nearby area. There are places to eat within walking distance.

First, the people working there are great. Super knowledgeable and helpful. Second, there are bathrooms on the lower level. Third, the exhibits are nice. I liked the history of the park one on the lower level a lot. And the animal one on the main...More

Historic building. Some interesting exhibits with good educational value. Friendly personnel. Tough parking, though -- and we were early in the season.

We stopped mostly because we were interested in the history of the building. It, like others nearby, we built to accommodate troops who first worked toward enforcing the status of Yellowstone as a National Park at a time when that concept was unfamiliar. Once inside...More
