Once a year we take our 5th wheel trailer up to Mammoth Lakes & camp for a week. We also take our street motorcycle along & this is what we ride up the Tioga Pass on. It is such a pretty ride,,,,but I do get...More

We loved this drive - after spending a week in Mammoth we still wanted to be in the mountains some more as there is a bit of a heatwave this week in this part of the country. My husband pulled over numerous times for photo...More

if you want to see a different landscape from the valley, go for it. we were slightly under-impressed, though. We loved Olmsted point quite soon along your journey. Tenaya lake was nice, the Tuolomne meadows and the views at the outer extreme of the park...More

This a great way to get into Yosemite. It is a good road with spectacular views all along the way. Thankfully also plenty off pull-off place to stop and get those photo shots without endangering the other traffic. For those who have small cars, be...More

We enered Tioga Pass from Lee Vining. It was a Saturday afternoon in mid June. It took hours to get to the other end, but the drive was pretty. We stopped at several places along the way making it a wonderful drive. It was long...More

The pass itself is impressive, but what it leads to on either end is even better, the High Sierras, Tuolumne Meadows, the lakes, the Tuolumne River and creeks, Lee Vining Canyon, Mono Lake, Mono Pass and all the hiking.

This was the most awe inspiring drive I have experienced! Drive safely and at the limit, be careful as a deer ran out on us and we nearly hit it! There's lots of places to stop and take in the breath taking scenery - take...More

I love Glacier Point Rd, Yosemite Valley, and the Mariposa Grove. Having seen the vistas from those areas, the views from Tioga Rd are underwhelming. If you are traveling across the park to get to Mono Lake or points beyond, it's a nice enough ride,...More

Hiked the first trail I came to after entering part. Didn't realize I was a stone's throw away from 10,000 ft! Shot out of the car and headed up the steepish trail, and quickly slowed down. Beautiful trail up, every turn was a picture! Headed...More

Coming in from Lee Vining, it is a great place to relax and cool off. The temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees cooler than on the Yosemite Valley floor. Road construction will delay your trip from the valley, but it is worth it.

likely it will still be open at that time...all depends on the weather..the pass is at higher elevations so I would watch the weather channel a few days before going on the trip just to be on the safe side
