A beautiful canyon and after the first couple of miles, few people amid gorgeous nature -- spectacular mountains, glaciers, meadows, streams, rocks...all beautiful. The Yosemite Conservancy hike to the glacier is amazing.

Worth the hike to see it up close. Gorgeous area. Climb it if you are capable. Easy, but longish, hike up the Lyell Fork to see the headwall to the basin. Trail continues up, but for a day hike, just enjoy the river valley, and please try to stay on the trail. Very delicate area.
