There are no exciting views. It's a nice few hours through the woods overlooking first the golf course and then the meadow. We saw no wildlife in the middle of the day. Good trail, lots of shade for the warmth in August.

My travel group included two school age relatives who seldom hike but are active kids. This was the perfect activity. We chose to hike counterclockwise, starting by walking across the golf course and turning left on the old road. I quickly realized that we'd need to douse ourselves with insect repellent as the mosquitoes love shade. We saw cool shaped... More

This is a great little walk for those looking for something mild and interesting. It's an easy walk and it would make a great trail fur a morning jog. Bring water.

We were staying at the Big Trees Hotel (formerly Wawona Hotel) and so it was nice to take a morning walk on this trail. Its also one where one can take a walk with one's dog - we met a couple of very nice dogs on our walk. Its a relatively easy walk Total length is 3 1/2 miles.

A pleasant walk of about 2 hours. 8-10 interpretive signs display nature and history facts. And the wildflowers in June were abundant!

The Wawona Meadow Loop is a 3.5 mile walk around the meadow area. To access the trail, park at the Wawona Hotel and walk across the golf course on the paved road to the forested area. The trail will be on the left - there's a sign there. There is a dirt parking area, but it's not clear these days... More

Start the hike before noon to miss the afternoon rains. Cross the Wawona Road over by the golf course. Up the hill a bit is the trailhead for the Meadow Loop. This is an easy hike that is 3.5 miles roundtrip. You are surrounded by majestic trees, lush groundcover of ferns and rotting logs. Some of the wildflowers have begun... More

The views of the meadow in the valley are breath taking everything is so green and lush with all the late rains. This is truley one of the locations to visit in California with the largest piece of grant in the western hemisphere.

Staying at the Wawona Hotel, it was fun to watch all of the families playing in the snow filled Wawona Meadow. They were building snowmen, sledding and just having fun. We also walked around the meadow which was a nice hike.

This is a great hike to get started with. Nice meandering loop around the Wawona meadow. Great for kids, families or a romantic walk.
