It was our first time riding a hot air balloon. The booking process was super user friendly with their website, and we kept in contact through Whatsapp. Despite being slightly pricier than their competitor, they are still much cheaper than other companies in other countries. Above Laos were very professional in their service, with a punctual pick up, elaborate safety briefing and a delicious post-landing breakfast. We felt safe at all times and totally recommend them if you are looking for a memorable experience

Hot Air Ballooning is great thing to do and Laos is probably the cheapest you can find worldwide. Guys from Above Laos are very organized and nice to deal with. They are flying not over the town but around valley next to mountains. In my mind is way better. We took morning ride and it was great on sunrise
So, highly recommend trying ballooning in general and Above Laos boys in particular

I wanted a sunset flight which was not showing as an option when I tried to book it but I emailed then to make sure and they went out of their way to fit me in but making sure safety was paramount by asking my weight so that they could be sure the balloon eas not overweight.
The flight and the pilot were superb, we were up in the air at a good height slowly but surely drifting in the slight breeze. The landing was spot on werecthe pilot planned to land and was very soft.
Sadly there was a haze in the sky so not the clearest of views but still worth it - being over the countryside rather than town is far better.
As others have said more expensive but a long flight, safety is paramount and in the countryside plus back at the pilot's cafe sandwiches, fruit, cake and a drink plus a glass of celebratory champagne are all.include not to.mention a good quality certificate of your flight.

We booked the Above Laos hot air balloon to see the sunrise through the hotel. The pick up time was about 5.45 am as we are staying closed to Nathong. Upon reaching, we were served some light snack, coffee and tea followed by a safety briefing.
The price is a little more expensive US120 as compared to the other provider in Vang Vienna (especially safety is utmost important) however it was definitely worth it. Be sure to book early as possible as one hot air balloon can only housed up top 8 person. Remember to wear something casual as you need to climb into the balloon and bring as little things as possible. The pilot and crew were very experience as they were all trained by the French owner whom also manufacture hot air balloons.
The average ride is about 45 mins or more depending on the wind. The ride was very scenic and enjoyable one. The landing was superb. After the ride, we were all invited to have some light breakfast with champagne! At t he same time, we were also issued a flight certificate too. Definitely one of your bucket list if you visit Vang Vieng!

Today I had the pleasure of a hot air balloon ride with Above Laos Ballooning Adventures. I picked this company because of the mixed review of the Chinese owned company in the centre of Vang Vieng who do not offer safety instructions and the rides tend to be quicker.
Today my ride was very professional due to being European owned and did include a safety briefing. The ride lasted 50 minutes and we saw the whole sunrise from start to finish. I would recommend this company 100%.

We took the sunrise ballon trip with ‘Above Laos’ and weren’t disappointed. They were a little more expensive than the other ballon companies, but well worth it. The pilots were very professional, and the views from their location were spectacular. Pickup was on time so we made it in time for sunrise, even with tea and coffee before hand. The breakfast and champagne afterwards were also great.

We had a 55 Min. flight in the morning. It was a nice experience although we got stuck around and near the starting area. The itinerary of the flight is always a question of the weather and wind conditions. Our pilot took a lot of care regarding the safety of the flight and especially the landing area and we always felt really safe. Highly recommended little adventure!

I booked the sunrise flight online a few days before. The crew got back to me right away on what’s app—they were professional and quick to respond. I was picked up at my hotel at the exact time they told me and taken to Above Laos ( 20 mins out of town) for coffee and a quick safety briefing. The balloons were inflated and 20 mins later we were in the air. We floated over the countryside and town for an hour 20 then lightly touched down (our pilot said the wind conditions were ideal and the time up depends on that). Everyone was professional and I felt completely safe. Great experience!

We chose Above Laos for our sunset hot air ballooning trip. From start to finish, the service was very professional and we flew in a group of 7 for about 50 minutes. Following the flight, we were met with champagne, fruit and biscuits which we had forgotten about, so that was a pleasant surprise. Overall, we highly reccommend Above Laos for hot air ballooning. Although you might be able to go for slightly less money, we felt this service was worth the additional $20-$30

The team at Above Laos we’re so nice and helpful. The flight was extraordinary and twice as long as the other companies’. They took safety very seriously which made the small premium more than worth it (on the day of our flight, one of the other companies had their balloon crash into the mountain... No one got injured but still.) We even got champagne afterwards to celebrate! Amazing experience through and through :)

We just did a sunset flight which was absolutely brilliant . I am sure sunrise is beautiful too but wanted to avoid another early morning and it’s pretty cool here in early January in the mornings. We had fantastic weather , an amazing flight with the most spectacular views .
