Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This national park had good nature, some temples and beautiful mountains. My wife and I visited for climbing 2 peak in this area, and there was good for trekking, walking and climbing. We visited Birobong and Noinbong that was main peak in this park, that's very good to us with beautiful view and road. The shortest course was about 13 km for 2 peak, and one was steep and the other was good for trekking.

Wonderful wooded and mountanous park that is typical of the northern corner of South Korea. 70% mountains in the area. Great hiking location any time of year.

Great hiking trails, but gets crowded during peak season (April-May and September-November). Entrance fee at the gate (around 3000 won per adult and 5000 per car). Couple of beautiful temples inside (Sangwonsa and Woljeongsa). Many hiking trails, inluding Birobong and Noinbong. Also peak-to-peak trails. Beautiful nature and nice places to have picnic. Camping not allowed on the national park area.

Quite a lot of driving to get here, but it is truly lovely! Love it, and will return. Do both temples, and the fir tree trail

Odaesan National Park is an amazing place to spend the morning, afternoon or the entire day. If you are a avid hiker, there are trails throughout the park. If you enjoy a leisurely walk, there are options for that too. The bridges that cross the river/streams are beautiful and they all differ from one another. Walking in the winter brings a different experience as I am sure it would be amazing in the summer as well. There are a couple of great walks/hikes/stair climbs to a couple of temples built into the mountain side. A treasure at the end of a beautiful hike.

Wow, wow, wow. You can see why they are protecting this environment. The drive through the park on Route 6 is simply stunning as you climb up to 960m.

I had the opportunity to come here today at this national Park and enjoy my time exploring the area and spending time in nature. Very close to the host of the 2018 Winter Olympics and the famous temple

Stopped by Odaesan National Park while on the way back to Seoul and I was awed by its beauty! It's surrounded by nature and Woljeongsa temple is situated here as well. Perfect for a temple stay in winter! The only downside is that it's very inaccessible to get here and you can only drive here or join a tour group..

Hi,
I am going to do a day trip from Seoul to Odaesan National Park and Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm.
From what I read I should take the KTX to Jinbu and I can take a taxi to the park.
Can I check if its easiest to travel from the park to the sheep farm by taxi too? And am I right it is easiest to take taxi from sheep farm back to Jinbu train station?
I am travelling with my wife and 2 kids, aged 5 and 8 on 29 Dec.
Thanks!

Is the bus 55 and 57 in operation currently from outside Jinbu KTX station to Woljeongsa?

Hey there!
I’m in Sokcho right now about 40 miles north of Odaesan (here to hike Seoraksan). Is there a good way to get to Odaesan by public transport from here? Looks to take about 4-5 hours. We were hoping to just go for a little day trip as we’ve found awesome accommodation here and everything around there is quite expensive on a backpacker budget!
Thanks in advance

Using public transport you can probably take an express bus from Sokcho to Gangneung. Then Gangneung has a KTX train to Jinbu (Odaesan train station)
