We can reach to this temple within 5 minutes from Ambalangoda. You can take a tuk tuk and go there. The tuk tuk fee will about Rs. 100/=. it has many attractive shrines, statues. The wood carvings are wonderful. The wooden statues are very attractive....More

The temple posses the largest wooden statue of Buddha in South Asia, with many other wooden statues. And there are nice Buddhist paintings which come under modern art.The chief monk is a professor at a state university and has travelled many countries doing dharma preachers.

There is a nice chamber with beautiful paintings related to Buddhism. And there are many wooden statues of Buddha including the highest wooden Buddha statue in South Asia. A calm and nice place .

If you go to Ambalangoda... make sure you go to this temple at least once.Such nice art work, can take lots of photos.

I visited several temples in south west Sri Lanka, but for me this one was the most beautiful and interesting. There was a really peaceful atmosphere.
