A small yet sacred temple is worth a visit. It has a big buddha statue. Lots of pilgrim visit here every day as it is an important temple for the people living around.
Wont take much of your time, worth a visit

Best temple I ever seen in Aluthgama area, so beautiful place, calm, and Good history for this place you must travel hear and I believe if we come hear and wish something true heart it will made true, so I believe this place.
The temple is simply stunning inside. There is a small museum next to temple which is in bad need.of some attention. The big issue I had was the chained up elephant outside the temple, I know its a traditional thing but the poor thing look...More
An impressive Buddha of some 77ft if ever we did see one. My Dad I think particularly enjoyed visiting this enchanting and spiritual place, a true wonder. We wanted to take my parents to see a big Buddha and this achieved the brief.
Got a tuk tuk there and it was fabulous. Nice and cool marble floors so bare feet not a problem. The oldest monk (wheelchair bound) walks around with his elephant at various times which is a delight to see
Make sure to wear socks if you are going in afternoon as you need to open shoes before you enter. Huge sitting Buddha is admirable. The underground area tells the Buddha story but all is not legible as it is not written in english.
