Excellent visit!

We had a lovely time walking around the grounds, looking at the animals and playing in the old style shop. Great place to visit, loads to do. We didn't even scratch the surface!

Ideal for young families. Lots of room to run around, nice playground with picnic area, farm animals and fantastic cafe. Cheaper entry in the winter as the barns are closed but still loads to do outdoors with lively children. Definitely worth the price of a season ticket.

What a lovely museum in a small market town,if the weathers fine take a nice walk outside around all the exhibits and on certain days they have hands on for all ages and don't forget Abbots Hall and the cafe both great places to visit.

Wonderful day out with grandchildren (10,6,4,18 months) and their parents. Made bunting in Abbots Hall using sewing machine while toddler played with buckets of toys thoughtfully placed in each room; dressed up; put on our own puppet show upstairs; picked up an explorer pack and explored home close including school room, and 'play shop'; walked the river trail; met and... Well worth a visit- the house has been sympathetically restored and this together with the various other attractions makes for an interesting trip - there are also extensive grounds with walks, picnic areas etc.

The museum although spaced out has some interesting things to see and the surrounding countryside on the premises is lovely to walk around. If you walk to the bottom there are some friendly farm animals and a windmill, great for little ones.

This is a real jewel in Stowmarket's crown. The house is beautifully preserved with room-sets and various interactive historical pieces. The garden is lovely too, with some produce on sale.

We visited last Sunday - 4 adults, 2 teenage children & 2 younger children. What a fabulous family day in the sunshine we had. Fabulous river trail. Interesting historic buildings to look round. Animals for the kids to see. Plenty of old steam engines, fire engines etc. Lovely little cafe. Staff very friendly and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend a visit!
