Definitely a lot of fun and well worth the visit, but it wasn't as bright as I was expecting from photographs I had seen of the Bay lit up like Avatar. This is definitely a fun activity, and it is not too strenuous, your guides will help you out. Tip: The less moonlight, the better.

Went on kayak tour to see the bioluminescence but saw very little light. Somme pictures show this to be very bright but during our tour it was very light. They say that it wasn't high season for viewing.

I did my tour with Glass Bottom through Bespoke. It was dark so it was the perfect time. It's a long canal to paddle through so you might get tired or your arms might hurt. The canal has a funny smell too. Anyway, I must have gone there on a good night because that water was glowing. It's all about... More

I went to the Bioluminescent Bay for the first time to take a Brazilian coworker and the place is just amazing. You arrive in Fajardo and from there you go to the Bay kayaking. The best time is when there is no moon.

Whatever used to happen in this bay no longer does. Our tour was via GSI Group Serives, booked by the Concierge at Condado Plaza Hilton. They pack groups of inexperienced kayakers into this bay and there is nothing to see. No glow at all. For this amount of money?

We did this with Dragonfly Adventures.........you couldn't see the glow unless you were under a tarp with a group and even then you could BARELY see it. NOTHING like the pictures. Complete waste of money

I had much higher expectations for this. The glow wasn't quite what we thought it would be and the return kayak through the bay in the dark was kind of chaos. Fajardo was also not quite the beach town I thought it would be. Overall - i think this tour is likely overrated.

This place used to be beautiful, but now due to high traffic and many sightseeing tours the bay is losing its bioluminesence. The bacteria are being disrupted at the hands of humans trying to showcase their reactive colors by swimming in the waters as a way to show tourists and locals the pretty colors. Hopefully this gets repaired and the... More

Our tour service was Bio Bay. They limit the number of passengers per tour to six people. The boat ride to Bio Bay goes through a channel that has salt water vegetation on the seaward side and fresh water vegetation on the other side. We saw numerous Iguana, Sponges, Birds, and Jelly Fish on the ride going into and coming... More
