Cosy independent cinema

Home made trailers advertising local businesses, big comfy couches to watch the movie in and super friendly staff I'm never going to a commercial cinema again.

Awesome place, old school theatre with new movies, for and adult ticket it's $15 so is very well priced. Intermission is an absolute treat, will be going there again for sure

Took my son here to see latest Star Wars installment. Great environment only downside is the long time we had to queue outside theatre in hope of getting good seat. Think we waited in line for at least 15 minutes, no complaints other than that. Meant I didn't want to get out of line to buy food/drinks though.

First time visit. The theatre is a throwback to a bygone era of cinemas. The screens are smaller then you'd fine in the States but the seating is comprised of couches, typical theatre seats and several cars. There's an intermission mid way through the movie where you can buy delicious cookies (a bit pricey at $4). Sound quality was good

I bloody love Paradiso! One of the coolest cinemas I've been to ever... the cookies are to die for!! Head down even if you're only passing through town!

Exhausted from a long day hike or need an escape from the rain? Try the theater. There are an assortment of different styles of seats. The largest theater seats 80; the smaller seats 55. You can order alcohol or other drinks to take in. Midway through the movie, they stop it so everyone can buy fresh from the oven cookies... More

Would recommend to do it if you have time. Have to book in advance. The staff was friendly and nice, the cinema itself was very cute and homey. I don't recommend to order any food there besides the cookies (they are amazing!) we tried the salad and pizza, and both were not tasty.

Paradiso Cinema is probably the best cinema I've ever visited. The staff were personable, the decor is unique (deep couches, comfy arm chairs and even an old car that makes you feel like you're in the drive-in cinema) and the general vibe is relaxed. Loved it.

had the pleasure of visiting the Paradiso cinema whilst in Wanaka last week. What a fabulous place it is. Seating in the screen we were in consisted of leather armchairs, sofas and even 2 cars! We want to watch "Sing" (great film) and not usually being one for enjoying a cinema mostly filled with kids, it was amazing. They have... More

Never thought a cinema would be a tourist attraction but this place is truly an exception. Couches... cars... warm cookies... and even an intermission. This place has it all. An experience awaits... and it's not the movie!!!
