We visited Wanaka on a day trip from Queenstown. The journey there alone was breathtaking. There are so many areas to stop off and take photos. We wished that we had stayed on here for a bit longer as the pace is a little more relaxing than in Queenstown. Defo will visit again to see more.

They say that Wanaka is Queenstowns little brother, but in my opinion it is becoming it's twin. There is so much to do here. The town is growing rapidly with real estate signs popping up everywhere. There is a nice collection of cafes and shops. The scenery is spectacular with views of Lake Wanaka and the Aspiring National Park. We... More

Loved our stay here. Full of things to do for every age. Lots of great places to stay and eat. Shopping is expensive! The views of Lake Wanaka are breathtaking from every angle! A boat trip out in the Lake is great fun as is a stroll around town.

Fantastic place, loved it and wish we could have stayed longer. So many great places to eat and stunning view of the lake. So many things to do here if you have the time. Hope to return one day.

Love coming to Wanaka, and we try to at least once a year. Our favourite place in the world. So much to do and it doesn't have to cost lots of money. Lots of amazing walks and bike tracks, the beautiful lake & many rivers. The scenery is to die for. Has to be top of the list for any... More

We drove to Wanaka through the Haast pass. Be prepared to stop many times as the scenery unfolds and you are treated to a great view of the lakes. The town itself is small with most of the shops located within a couple of blocks. Wanaka is much more relaxed compared to nearby Queenstown.

I spent three days here and wanted more. This gorgeous town has everything from a great library to healthy cafes and restaurants that have great tasting food and drinks to amazing activities and more. There's even a maze you can have fun with on the edge of town! The supermarket, New World is very well stocked and staffed. For outdoor... More
