We didn't get a lot of time in the park, but went to Fantail Falls. They were worth the drive. A photographers paradise.

My wife and I did the full-day Routeburn Trail hike from Queenstown. It was twelve miles round trip. There are several suspension bridges along the way. The views are great. The trail is very well maintained. We stopped at the Flats Hut area for lunch.

We did a 3-night, 4-day hike with Aspiring Guides on the Gillespie Pass circuit. You need to be in good shape to do the hike and we were lucky to have great weather. The scenery was astounding and a high point of our trip to NZ. For more details about our hike, look at our TripAdvisor review of Aspiring Guides... More

The sun shone after a couple of grey and stormy days and the landscape shimmered as we drove through this fabulous terrain of majestic mountains and lush valleys. Our plans took us further south but we had a twinge of regret that we were not able to explore the tramping trails in this beautiful area. No wonder it is a... More

Lots of fabulous short walks such as Raspberry Flat car park to Aspiring Hut, Liverpool biv etc. Cascade saddle makes a nice walk. Don't go near this place in winter unless you have full winter tramping equipment. Wonderful spot and so accessable to Wanaka.

We purchased a 4 night package through the Otago Youth Adventure Trust Rotary Club of Milton Tramping Club. (OYAT). The accommodation for our 36+ person hiking group was Tititea Lodge, which is outside the NP. It was originally theMt Aspiring Station Homestead, now administered by the Mount Aspiring Outdoor Education Trust. Its only available to groups – not to individuals.... More

This park is wonderful, and even better all national parks in NZ are free to the public. We went on several short hikes and just bathed in the scenery of the southern Alps.

A great day trip over the pass and to the Pacific Ocean. There are numerous stops and trails to hike along the way. We enjoyed the Blue Holes the most as it is so beautiful and the hike to get to it from the road is interesting with a variety of flora in the beech forest.
