This an easily accessible walk (it starts from the town!) and is very easy to do as there is no gradient. Early in the morning or in the early evening will offer the greatest rewards. Past the end of the developed track you can continue...More

Lovely, easy walk - enjoyable way to spend an evening. We carried on walking a little further to Bremner Bay where the water was shallow and there were a few children paddling and families having picnics.

If you are not into the long "real" walks around stunning Wanaka this is an ideal opportunity - enjoying great views, a kind of exercise for people who follow Churchill with his "sport is murder" :-) .

While you're in Wanaka, head to Beacon Point beach for sunset. Other than a few runners and a bunch of baby rabbits, I had the whole place to myself. Magical!

This is an easy walk along the edge of the lake, past the Marina. However, the walker should look towards the land also to admire the many houses that have been built to take account of the wonderful views from on high.
