Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We endorse everything else that earlier people have written in the reviews as this is a most enjoyable wine visit and shouldn’t be missed.
Fiona gave us a tasting of quite a few wines all of which were delicious.
We ended up buying the mystery wine pack plus a Pinot Gris and we were delighted to see the Gordon Chardonnay in our pack.
Not many wineries are open on a Monday so this is a great setting point.

Called in after a day boarding at Cadrona. Fiona was absolutely lovely, informative and welcoming of our family (18 & 20 yr old kids who are very novice wine drinkers!).
We had a wonderful wine tasting with lots of laughs and were pleasantly surprised with wine quality and left with a 1/2 dozen case.
A lovely warm cosy tasting room and hospitable owners with a wonderful story of ending up in NZ and living the dream. Well worth the stop in. Great Chardonnay, so glad you followed your instinct and Central Otago Pinot Noir - say no more.
We wish you the best with your successful endeavour and raise our glasses to your adventurous spirit.

My wife and I visited here on a tour with Wanahaka tours. FYI definitely book with them as you won't regret it! We were greeted with great enthusiasm from the owners dogs which made it feel like arriving at a friend's place. Ian then presented a tasting that was personal and friendly. The wine was some of the best we have ever tasted. At no time did we ever feel pressured to buy as it was clear that Ian was just passionate about sharing his story and creations. Having a bellbird land in the plant just outside the room felt like a sign and we are very happy with our purchases. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and sharing your talent.

We visited on new years’ eve. When we arrived we got a lovely welcome from Freckles the dog and walked into a very cosy tasting room. Ian told us their story of how they set up and started living the dream. Each wine was lovely, and we left with Chardonnay (even when we’re usually not the biggest Chardonnay drinkers!) and the Pinot Noir 2018. We would’ve left with more had we not been visiting from London! Very memorable and we really enjoyed it, thanks Ian!

Had a wonderful tasting with Ian. He was so friendly and it was so much fun. We had a group of 8 people and just dropped in late in the afternoon, it didn't phase Ian at all. Met the 2 beautiful dogs and bought the mystery pack, and some other lovely wines. All the wines were great.

Stopped in while visiting Wanaka and a really friendly and great family run winery.
Thank you to the lovely owner for a great tasting, good yarn, and for a great bottle of wine.
The wine tasting room is small and cosy but it made for a nice and different experience. We also loved the friendly on site pups Freckles and Gordon who love guests (and lots of pats if you're willing).

Tasted 5 wines with Fiona. She was very friendly and informative. We had a wonderful conversation about her wines and wine in New Zealand. We enjoyed to experience. Notes: due to the construction, it can be hard to find. Google and Waze brought us to two different places—both were wrong. Call them before setting out and they will explain how to get there. It is worth the effort.

We visited this vineyard on a rainy day in Wanaka and were so glad we did. It was cosy and local and we were met with a warm welcome. The wines were excellent.

The first of our 4 stops on a boutique wine tour. We tasted four wines and were pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the Chardonnay and the beautiful rose. They also had two well rounded pinto noirs which we couldn’t fault. Highly recommend as we even took a bottle home!
