Balmoral is a great place for couples and families! The beaches are safe, clean, and sandy! The Pavilion offers fine dining (terrific), casual dining (superb) cafe for coffee and basics! Kayaking and parks, netted swimming area, long promenade to walk- scooter - jog! Watch out for parking prices! Get there early to get a park! Does get busy. Not for... More

The beach, swimming enclosure and small island of Balmoral was an awesome find on our travels. The only problem was that every man and his dog knew about it too. After you fight for a car park which are expensive then you can fight for a spot on the beach. Have a picnic and enjoy!

Perfect for families as shallow and very slight swell. Parking is a nuisance and limits time there but take a picnic.

Sydney has some of the best beaches in the world. If you're looking for a harbour beach, instead of a surf beach like Manly or Bondi, the Balmoral is the place to go. There are really two beaches separated by Rocky Point. To the south is Balmoral Beach with the Boatshed Cafe, Baths, change rooms and the shops. On the... More

Catch the 243 or 249 bus from the city Or get the ferry from the city to Toronga zoo and grab a connecting bus to the beach. It is Sydney's best harbour beach. It is populated by a very international crowd. Restaurants and cafes cater for all tastes though none of them cheap. This place is a true example of... More

Great for people who aren't strong swimmers. Very gentle to non existent surf. Very fun and family friendly with some nice little coffee shops around. Not overcrowded either, even in holiday season.

Balmoral beach is a gorgeous harbour beach located in the North Shore of Sydney. Named after the Royal Family's Scottish Estate, the location is known for its pristine beauty, wonderful waters and laid back atmosphere. With a handful of cafes, one fish and chip shop and several fine dining establishments, Balmoral Beach offers activities for everyone of all ages. I... More

We stumbled on this beach whilst out for a long walk after coming down many steps. What a lovely place, plenty of sand for people to sunbathe and children to play. Good toilet and shower facilities. Decent places to have something to eat or get a drink. We then got the bus back to the centre of Sydney.

Lots of cafes, great Resturants, showers all you need for a perfect beach day out. Also where we got a house for 2 weeks our fav base when we come to Sydney. CHristmas day... More

There is nothing quite like a nice, leisurely walk along the beachfront, watching other people sunbaking themselves to a golden brown and risking sunburn, children frolicking in the water and happy dogs out for a walk. I've loved Balmoral ever since I arrived in Sydney many, many years ago. I'm not a surfer, so I prefer this beach for swimming... More
