Well worth the hike up the hill from Platamonas town. Take the disused railway line rather than following the road. Costs a couple of Euros to get in and is a great way to spend 40 mins soaking up some history. Great views back toward...More

With outstanding views of the gorgeous scenery that surrounds the area, it's totally a treat to explore and an intimate step back into history to cherish. Perched high and keeping silent watch over the local area, gazing upon it's commanding presence instills a regal sense...More

The Platamonas Castle is enough if you just pass by and you admire it by far because inside is nothing to be seen . The ruins can be seen from the road . Do not lose time and money visiting it !

The renovations are amazing with lots of factual information for you to understand the history of the lovely castle. The views are absolutely fantastic and its only 3 euro to visit.

We were impressed by the scale of the fort for our time, it contained a whole city, several temples, a special reservoir for all inhabitants and many other auxiliary buildings. Besides, the view is incredible!   It is absolutely advisable to see!

The perfect location to have an amazing view of Olympus Riviera, and Olymus Mountain. Also Halkidiki is visible from that place!

I cannot say Platamonas Castle is a special place to visit. It is only an old fortress with well-preserved walls. It is close to Nei Pori and Platamonas making it very easy to visit when one had enough time on the beach.
