We enjoyed our vis to this eccentric park and the history and controversy of such a place existing in the first place. I highly recommend the audio tour which had the descriptors of each statue and original audio and even jokes from Soviet era.

The park is very sweet and worth a visit. The statues are amazing to see and very powerful.
The information on communism is not very accurate (many of the plaques contradict each other).
It is definately worth seeing the statues and where they stood.

For my review of the attraction itself see the duplicate page for Grutas Park (Tripadvisor seems to have two). Here I would just like to recommend my guide, Vaida Jusaite, who can be contacted at vaida.jusaite@gmail.com. Vaida is an exceptional guide, very friendly, speaks perfect English and knows a lot about interesting stuff. It was nice having her company just to talk to her about life in general in Lithuania as well as for her ability to explain who people like Kapsukas were (if you don't know then why not go to Grutas Park and find out?). I know Vaida also does different tours for other companies, walking tours of Vilnius, cycling tours of the Baltic etc. If you're planning a holiday why not try contacting her direct to discuss your requirements.

Did you know they keep wild/exotic animals and birds there caged/fenced? Some of the white cages have white painted (!) 'trees' inside. Yeah, that looks like a completely natural environment for birds that don't even normally get to Europe. If I had known this, I wouldn't have supported it! I'm going to report this to all the animal rights organisations! Shame!

large place in a forest, with part of zoo, part soviet union monuments, most of them are occupation reminders, not the actual Lithuania's worship objects, lots to do for families, good history lesson

This was worth the drive. My kids were so happy to run free and have a playground to play on. We were told it was an Soviet area play ground lots. Maybe well over 130 soviet busts, public statues and glass works. You can up and close with them, They tried to tell use we needed a English local park guide, not needed over 75% of the write up describing the statues are in Russian, Lithuania and English. Very nice restaurant in side the park. If your kids love animals a ton of cages with every kind of animals are here too inside the park. My kids loved petting a zebra. it is about 1 1/2 hours from Vilnius. If it is raining you have four building that have have smaller displays to view while the rain stops.

An hour's stroll around these leftover communist era statues gave us a real history lesson into both communism and the impact of the Soviet Union on Lithuania. Worth a stop!

Rather expensive by comparison with other attractions in Lithunia.
A beautiful setting beside a large lake and a stream running through the park. The main purpose of the park is to display the large number of Communist era statues which were removed from display in several Lithunian cities once the country got its freedom. The statues are well displayed with English translations. Each is set in a small forest glade beside the forest paths. Included in the park are a large Childers play area, a small zoo and a couple of museums.
There was some local controversy at the opening of this park. Some felt that these disgraced people should not be once again on display.
Tip - don't buy the map. It adds nothing and there is a large display copy of it by the cafe.

Highly recommended experience. The drive from Vilnius (80 miles, one hour 40 mins) was a delight: quiet well-surfaced roads, forests, fields, farms, storks and stork nests on poles.
The park itself is a pleasant walk and a sobering education. The setting is delightful with well-laid pathways and clear routes through a verdant wooded landscape. Birds singing, sunlight through birch trees. Then you notice the watchtowers from USSR times. You see a series of Soviet-era statues collected from all over Lithuania. Huge figures of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Soviet “heroes” show the reality of pre-1991 Lithuania. The museum illustrated the barbarism and brutality of the Soviet invaders. At the entrance is a closed railway truck used for transporting dissidents to Siberia.
Finally, we recommend the restaurant for excellent food and an informative waitress who told us about storks and where to see them.

Park which does not allow visitors with dogs inside. In case You are traveling with Your four legged family member(s)- do not bother driving there.
