Very clean beach with excellent opportunities for kite-surfing. Plenty of bars and restaurants but doesn’t feel over-commercialized. One of the nicest and cleanest beach resorts on the eastern coast of Zanzibar.

Spent 4 nights here and this is the beach i enjoyed the best on Zanzibar. The sand is white powder, sea urchins much less than on kiwngwa, and the water crystal clear. You can take beautiful walks during low tide and swim in the warm...More

Sabrina is a local woman operating a beachfront dinner service in the evenings. We met her walking along the beach one day and booked dinner that evening. We were not disappointed! For a very reasonable price, Sabrina cooked us a wonderful feast of fish, seafood,...More

Paje has a nice chilled atmosphere, there are lots of solo travellers to meet and party's to go to if you want. I went to Kendwa first and the atmosphere was strange, no solo travellers, very quiet apart from the all inclusives. The beach is not...More

The best atmosphere for kiting with friends. Nice places to chill betwin the sessions. The wind is quite good but not more than 18 knots during the day.

I've chosen Paje to be my beach destination many times as a solo traveler. I'm not a kite surfer (the place is full of them) but I've found the beach at Paje beautiful and with just the right amount of activity - not full "resort...More

Loved the holiday and the beach. Plenty of wind and kitesurfing was amazing. The only unpleasant part was the locals making a nuisance of them selfs trying to sell something every 5 minutes while we trying to relax.

I loved my days spent in Paje: the warm water, white sand, and cool eating spots right on the beach. Only bad thing, the tide! Around 4/5 pm the sea would take over the beach and little space left.

Lots of beach bars on Paje with hotels to suit all budgets from luxury to backpacker hostel. Luxury hotels around the Kite Surfing Paradise site with bars and budget hotels both north and south within a 400m walk.

OK, there is one store with basic supplies and liquor store an green market in village which you pass through on way from beach to stores. No ice, and it is better that way. Avoid ice or any form of non bottled water.
