This was a pleasant side trip for us... one I'm so glad we took advantage of. It only takes 30-60 minutes or so, but it is enough to get a sense, in sight and sound,of tbe places and people from long ago.

We accidentally came across this museum and wow what a find ! I have been to many museums in this world and this museum is amazing and so interesting ! A must for all visiting this area !

Honoring the community that once lived on the island. Also much information on the various writers and poets that have been inspired by this tranquil island. Various artists today are still being inspired by the Blasket Island.

We visited this centre as part of a Globus tour. The exhibits and information provided were very interesting as wash the video presentation. You can still see some of the village on the island in the distance and imagine what a hard life it was...More

We had decided that the Blasket Centre would serve as our coffee stop on our Slea Head Drive: which it most adequately did. What we had not expected was how good and interesting the Centre itself would be. Provides exhibits outlining the history of settlement...More

Great way to take a break on your way around the Dingle Peninsula to learn about how 100+ very hardy souls lived under very harsh conditions a stones throw from the mainland until 1954. Good film about the island and islanders and many good exhibits....More

If you cant visit the Blasket Islands you can come here and see what it was like to live there. It was a rough life . Free with OPW card.
