Big market with italian and non-italian products

As many reviewers already said, this is the famous big market which takes place in Luino every Wednesday (8:30am - 16:00pm). Clothes, local food products, bags, leather products... read more

Avoid the market in Luino. Unless you need 1000 stalls offering t-shirts, fake sunglasses, cheap shoes and other varieties of clothing. Or cheap "African" art and leather wares. If that is your fancy then it is the right place. If you look for anything authentic Italian or local foods then the Luino market is definitely NOT the place to go.

As many reviewers already said, this is the famous big market which takes place in Luino every Wednesday (8:30am - 16:00pm). Clothes, local food products, bags, leather products (shoes, belts). Prices range very low (for made in China cheap stuffs) to pretty high (good genuine made in Italy shoes for example), so everyone can find something for himself. We personally... More

We visited this market and all thought it was one of the best markets we have visited. The merchandise was very good value for money and of superior quality. The weather was fantastic and the atmosphere amazing. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Italians have style and this market put all British markets to shame. LOVED IT!!

We were travelling around Italy and specifically went to Luino to visit this market, as we had heard that people came from everywhere to see it. On reflection, if you are nearby, it is worth a visit, but I would go far out of my way to visit. It is a really large market with over 300 stalls, unfortunately though... More

Huge market covering the town center. Cute town. Very hard to park your car unless you know where to park. The Norfolk terminal is a convenient place to park to visit the market. Ladies clothing and bags mostly Chinese. Little clothing for youngsters. Sellers mostly foreign. Several languages spoken. For shoes i'd go elsewhere. I expected more Italian items. Food... More

This used to be a wonderful market, 30 years ago when I visited for the first time. Now, it is still colourful, but is is populist commercialism pure: crowded, kitchy-touristy, with permanent repetition of the exact same clothing items of cheap quality, plastic handbags and shoes (few exceptions). After a short time, you get bored and frustrated - and after... More

Luino market seems to be rather too oriented towards tourists, with many stalls selling the same sort of tat. It is so large that it is difficult to find your way round, and unless you have plenty of stamina you'll probably get bored after a short time. There were some stalls selling interesting-looking produce, but I am not entirely sure... More

This once was a great market. Huge, colorful and Italian - set in a lovely town on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Now, it is still huge but a lot less colorful and hardly Italian. With most stalls selling mostly the same, mostly Chinese stuff, the eye and the senses get dulled after a while. Being chased by insisting street... More

Really disappointed with this market. Was full of stalls selling fake leather goods, mobile phone accessories and the like. The whole of Luino was choked by the stalls. I would give it a miss and instead go to Cannobio or Verbania Intra for some authentic shopping. If you do go, ensure you set a meeting place in advance in case... More
