Born in 1998 Cotriero is located far south of the city of Gallipoli, in the most commonly known as Pizzo location. Artfully framed within the Mediterranean area, it perfectly adapts to the geomorphology of the place, characterized by rocky outcrops, cliffs, under which sprouts of rosemary, thyme and wild myrtle, grow sloping down to the sea in a twisted manner, as characteristic of this stretch of coast in the Ionian coast, where the Mediterranean meets the sea. During the day, warm bathing, at night pub atmosphere with live music concerts all with free admission. The cotriero is a painting in harmony with the Mediterranean, which exudes respect for nature and its culture, its discrete structure blends perfectly with the twisted thickets of myrtle and rosemary. The Cotriero offers an extensive menu of dishes and, for those who love to eat 'slowly', it can be entertaining and interesting to read the place mats that provide explanatory information about the flora and fauna of this area. More than 80 fact sheets alternate on the place mats, and describe the birds, reptiles and plants that can be observed in the area. For those who have forgotten a book to read at home: no problem you can always consult the books available for customers. They are all informative, easy to read and illustrated, speak of Salento, culture, tradition, art, of its folklore and beliefs, the nature of places of touristic, architectural and archaeological interest.

I've been to Cotriero twice during my vacation in Gallipoli. The place is magnificent, looks like a small "pirate boat" between the rocky coast of Salento. The Happy Hour is fantastic with great (and free) food for everyone. I also ha d the chance to see a live concert of Tonino Carotone. I'll be back next summer for sure!

We found a great location with professional service and very good snacks for a typical italian "aperitivo" to be consumed by the sea. Strongly recommended.
