To many slow moving people in the track to completely enjoy the hike. The transfer bus from Gaustablikk høyfjellshotell was great. Next time I will take the tram down the mountain.

Not for the fair of heart! This walk is for those with strong ankles and knees. The view from the top was overwhelmingly beautiful! I won't forget it!

We had a great walk to Gaustatoppen. No problem for the youngest kid which is 10 years. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived at 10. It was a bit cloudy but No more than we had some view from the top.

My teen son and I walked from Stavsro to Gaustatoppen while the third person in our party didn't want to walk so he took the Gausta"train" up and down. We ended up beating him to the top and to the bottom of the mountain because the waiting time were too long for those who didn't want to climb the mountain on foot. We are used to hike in the mountains and found this route easy as there has been much work done there from the Sherpas from Nepal, the trail was friendly and we used 1:49 hours up and around 1:18 down. It is a very stony place so proper shoes are recommended. We were lucky with the weather and the views unfolded quickly after ascending a few minutes, truly beautiful. Once arriving to the top there is a DNT tourist cabin and one can buy souvenirs, coffee, Norwegian waffles, connect to the WIFI if needed, take a break to eat your lunch. There are the toilets. After arriving in Stavsro on our return, we decided to walk towards the other parking lot outside the Gaustabannen where our fellow traveler had parked, that was around 4 km and an easy walk on a sunny day, but it is possible to take the shuttle between parking areas. …
